LOUD 'N' ROLL CINEMA - LRC | REGULATIONS 2025

Category Changes (03/27/2025): After a review by the curatorial team regarding participant engagement in each category, it was deemed necessary to reformulate the categories. We also decided to include bird names in the categories, as both rock and music, like birds, carry their energy and song to every corner of the world. Birds symbolize freedom and the universal connection provided by art. The new categories are: Arara-Azul (Best Brazilian Music Video), Andorinha-do-mar (Best Foreign Language Music Video), and Ave-do-Paraíso (Best Symphonic Film).

1 - Introduction

1.1. Loud 'N' Roll Cinema is an international festival whose main category is dedicated to the exhibition and awarding of rock music videos.
1.2. The first edition will take place in person on July 12-13, 2025, at CASA1/2BAR, in Balneário Piçarras, SC, Brazil.
1.3. The festival will be free for the public, with no ticket charges for screenings.

2 - Registration and Eligibility

2.1. Registration is free and can be done through the Festhome platform or via the Google Forms link available on the official event website.
2.2. Music videos from any country will be accepted, as long as they belong to the rock genre.

2.4. Each artist or filmmaker can submit as many music videos as they wish.
2.5. No person involved in the organization, curatorial team, or jury may have direct or indirect participation in a selected music video. If such involvement is identified, the work will be automatically disqualified with no possibility of appeal.

3 - Categories, Evaluation, and Awards

3.1. The festival will award the following categories:

Official Selection:

  • Arara-Azul - Best Brazilian Music Video

The arara-azul, with its vibrant colors and strong presence in Brazil’s forests, symbolizes the richness and cultural diversity of Brazil. Like this iconic bird, the music videos in this category should reflect the authenticity and impact of rock produced in Brazil and sung in Portuguese.

  • Andorinha-do-mar - Best Foreign Language Music Video

The andorinha-do-mar, a migratory bird that carries its beauty and song beyond borders, reflects the ability of music to transcend cultural boundaries. This category includes music videos from anywhere in the world, including Brazilian productions sung in foreign languages. It celebrates the global reach of rock, just as the andorinhas cross territories.

Parallel Section:

  • Ave-do-Paraíso - Best Symphonic Film

The ave-do-paraíso is known for its unique beauty and impressive performances, symbolizing how art transcends aesthetics to become an immersive spectacle. Like this bird, musicals combine music and visual performance in an impactful way. This parallel competition is not limited to rock, opening up space for productions from various musical genres where music and visual storytelling merge to create unforgettable experiences.

3.2. Up to 10 finalists will be selected for each category.
3.3. The finalists will be selected by a curatorial committee, and the winners will be chosen by a specialized jury.
3.4. Evaluation Criteria:
• Creativity – Originality in visual and narrative approach.
• Technical Quality – Audiovisual execution, including direction, editing, cinematography, and sound.
• Visual Impact – Aesthetic strength, composition, use of color, and visual communication of the message.
• Musical Quality – Composition, sound production, instrumental and vocal performance.
• Harmony between Music and Image – The relationship between the audiovisual content and the sonic experience of the work.

3.5. The festival will provide digital certificates to selected participants and special certificates for the winners of each category. The awards will be honorary, without cash prizes. The selected and winning works will have their information registered on the festival’s official platforms, ensuring long-term visibility for the artists.
3.6. The organization may consider the inclusion of additional honorary or non-honorary prizes.
