With pride and enthusiasm, we present the selected works for the first edition of Loud ’n’ Roll Cinema, a festival that focuses on rock but recognizes the vast range of paths it offers. Our curation is based on the understanding that rock is a fertile ground for invention: it inspires new styles, merges with other languages, and drives sonic and visual experiments that cross genres, generations, cultures, and territories.

The selection brings together music videos in different languages and from various countries, exploring the possibilities of image and sound anchored in the attitude of Rock ’n’ Roll, reaffirming the festival’s commitment to the rock genre, united with cultural plurality and diversity, as a form of free and critical expression.

The works are organized according to the festival’s official categories, renamed with symbolic bird names:

  • Arara-Azul – Best Brazilian Music Video

Frames rock videos produced in Brazil or sung in Portuguese, symbolizing the rare beauty of Brazilian rock.

  • Andorinha-do-Mar – Best Foreign-Language Music Video

Gathers rock videos in languages other than Portuguese, regardless of origin, which, like the Andorinha-do-Mar (tern), crosses continents.

  • Ave‑do‑Paraíso – Best Symphonic Film (parallel screening)

Inspired by the Bird-of-Paradise, capable of presenting a true sonic and visual show, this category showcases symphonic films, intended for instrumental music videos but also films that, without dialogue, combine music and visual performance in a striking way.

We received 102 submissions from different corners of the world: 91 from Brazil, three from Andorra, two from Spain, two from Australia, and one each from the following countries – the Basque Country, France, India, and the United States. We are deeply grateful for each submission.

Each selected artist helps to draw the sensory map of this festival: rock is more than music — it is gesture, image, resistance, boldness, and evolution. We believe rock is unlimited in art.

We thank all participants for their creative courage.
Loud ’n’ Roll Cinema is born with you!
